Storytelling Appearances

Connie’s performance and workshop venues include corporate events, theaters, schools, museums, libraries, conferences, and festivals. Although Connie is usually booked months in advance, she may have openings for last minute additions. She is also available for evening performances and workshops while on school tours.

May 15 Jonesborough TN  As part of the “Teller in Residence” series Connie is performing Hope is back on me: A Storyteller’s Journey in Uganda on Friday at 10:30 am.  Each $10 ticket (proceeds will be donated to BFL) includes a free handmade ‘triple bracelet’. May 30 Asheville NC Finding the Storyteller in You. Join us for this one-day storytelling workshop, everyone welcome – from beginner to experienced, Saturday 9:30am - 4:30pm
June 13 Hot Springs NC

Connie is telling stories at one of her favorite area events Bluff Mountain Festival – set under the trees with lots of old-timey music and dance, arts and crafts and a silent auction to benefit the Madison County Arts Council.

June 15-20 Little Switzerland NC Connie is ‘Artist in Residence’ at Wild Acres
July 9 Asheville NC Dottie Jean Kirk (one of Connie's talented coaching students) is performing her new solo show – “Born Gifted Need Help” at The Altamont Theatre in downtown Asheville, July 9th, 7:30pm, public performance for adults and teenagers, $20 admission. Dorothy's first solo show 'Hold Still! I Can't See Myself' was a hit.  Take a listen!
July 12-18 Asheville NC 10th Annual Storywindow Retreat - 7 days of study, coaching, & day trips. Rave Reviews.
July 27-31 Orcas Island WA Join Connie and other national tellers for a week of stories in the San Juan Islands for Eth-Noh-Tec’s biannual Orcas Storyfest
August 7-8 Allison Park (Pittsburg area) PA Connie is featured at the Three Rivers Storytelling Festival
August 9-10 Pittsburg area PA Connie is available for area bookings
August 20-22 Asheville NC Taking Your Story to the Stage - This workshop is open only to those who have previously studied with Connie. Join us for public performance on August 21 (see details below)
August 21 Asheville NC “A Slice of Life” performance at Metro Wines, 169 Charlotte St with plenty of parking.  Join Connie, Christine Westfield, Vixi Jil Glen, Sherry Lovett and Connie’s other “Taking the Stage” workshop participants for a great evening of storytelling; 7:30 pm, admission $15 (includes a glass of wine!)

August 29 Beech Mountain, Banner Elk NC A celebration at the Hicks homeplace in honor of master storyteller, Ray Hicks who would have been 93 on this day.  Bring pot luck, stories and memories and enjoy storytelling in the “Outhouse Amphitheater.”
September 12 Ashland (outside Omaha) NE

Moonshell Storytelling Festival at the Mahoney State Park

September 13-15 Des Moines/Ames IA Workshop for the Two Rivers Story Spinners, and several area performances.  Connie is also available for one-on-one story coaching during this time.  Contact Maureen Korte for appointments and details.
September 18-19 Story City (yes, it does exist!) IA Come enjoy Connie and other national tellers at the Story!telling Festival
September 26 Cullowhee  NC Mountain Heritage Day Festival  a combination old-fashioned mountain fair and showcase for Southern Appalachian music, arts, dance and song, with the atmosphere of a big family reunion. Admission free.
October 2-4 Jonesborough TN 43rd annual National Storytelling Festival
December 13 Boca Raton FL

Performance of "Finding Your Way Home:  Stories of True-Life Adventures & Mountain Roots" at the Boca Raton Public Library. For adults and those like minded.
