Stories connect people, soften the heart, make us laugh, heal old hurts, help us learn – and affect how we experience the world. Whether we are aware of it or not, a myriad of assumptions guide our everyday experience and are often not relevant and no longer supportive. What are the stories of our past and present that we have accepted as our reality? Is it time to ask if they are still true? We are flooded with so much information, that we sometimes underestimate the impact and value of exploring and telling our own stories with real listeners.
The nature of our stories can make the difference between joy and suffering. Not only can we change the way that our past affects us today, but with intention and deliberate action we can change the course of our future. As we focus our attention on our stories, we are refreshed by a wellspring that enriches our lives - personally, professionally, artistically, and spiritually.

“Why is it so difficult to give up old perceptions when it's clear that what we really know is only a fraction of what there is to be known? The tiny fraction we see is not the only way it is."
Carl A. Hammerschlag
This weekend workshop welcomes everyone: those curious about storytelling, those who love stories, and those on a spiritual path seeking to increase awareness.
During the weekend you will:
- Practice deep listening skills
- Explore the impact of your stories on your life
- Re-visit old memories and tell them from different perspectives
- Choose stories that support you
- Practice being present as the story unfolds
As a teacher, Connie Regan-Blake invites deep listening and telling on many levels. Her approach is welcoming, powerful and fun; and her teachings can be useful in the corporate world, with family and friends or on stage. During the weekend, she will guide us in being present and using our intention to shape the stories of our lives. We will have the opportunity to work on a short, easy story that we can take home and tell right away. Together, we will create an encouraging, playful and appreciative community as we learn through oral exercises, movement activities, and story-partnering.
Join us in a celebration of stories and creativity.
