"The soul never thinks without an image.”
Aristotle
This weekend workshop is designed to nurture creativity and explore the use and power of images and archetypes in our lives and in our stories.
Our work together will be practical and hands-on. We will create a three-dimensional landscape of story, so that we enter inside the story to see the surroundings. Images are the crown jewels of story and we will use our senses, memories and attention to the present moment to uncover and polish them.
Participants will also examine the dynamic relationship between the speaking voice and the written word - translating the immediacy and spontaneity of the oral word on to paper as well as hearing the voice of the written word.
Image Work: Writing & Telling Our Stories is for those interested in story-writing and storytelling. All are welcome: poets and dreamers and the practical - from the veteran to the beginner including those who don't think of themselves as creative. If you are ready to broaden your work and love of stories, please join us in Asheville , North Carolina October 27-29, 2006.
“You must give birth to your images. They are the future waiting to be born.”
Rainer Maria Rilke
